Description
The farm buildings forming the farmyard to the southwest of Leigh Barton were constructed in 1870 for the Duke of Bedford. They are made of stone rubble with slate roofs and brick dressings on the dunghouse. The buildings are arranged on two levels, creating a higher yard and a lower yard. The higher yard includes a shippon and stables, and it incorporates a barn from the 16th century, which is listed separately. The lower yard features a central dunghouse with access to the first floor from the higher yard, along with open-fronted livestock and cartsheds that include pens.
