Description
Harragrove is a cottage built around 1810, possibly designed by Sir Jeffry Wyatville in connection with his design for Endsleigh House for the 6th Duke of Bedford. The cottage is linked to the kitchen gardens at Endsleigh. It is constructed from brick and stone rubble, featuring gabled slate roofs and diagonally-set rendered and brick chimney shafts. The plan is irregular, with a wing to the east of the main block that may have been added later. The south elevation displays an asymmetrical front, with a two-span block gabled at the front and deep eaves, alongside a slightly set-back lower block to the right, which is gabled at the right end. To the left, there is a portico supported by granite piers with moulded capitals and topped with a hipped slate roof, resembling the portico at Endsleigh House. The cottage has 20th-century windows. The interior has not been inspected.
