Description

The Sir Francis Drake Public House is a mid-19th century building located on or near the site of the "Great House," which was the 16th century town house of the Glanvilles. At the left end of the front, there is a granite 4-centred archway with carved spandrels, most of which appears to be original and is positioned where the ancient gatehouse once stood. The building is three storeys high, constructed from stone rubble, and features a slate roof with a crenellated parapet. It has four mullioned and transomed windows and an off-centre Victorian granite 4-centred arch.
