Description

Number 9 Market Street is a building dating from around 1791, which was altered in the late 19th century. Originally constructed as the Tavistock Bank, it stands three storeys high and features four windows. The upper floors are now covered in pebble-dash, and there are sash windows with glazing bars. A stringcourse runs along the building, and it has a parapet. The late 19th-century stone shopfront is notable for its rusticated pilasters. Inside, the first floor contains well-preserved late 18th-century doorways and fireplaces.
