Description

The Taylor ledger stone is fixed to the churchyard retaining wall to the north and east of the Church of St John the Baptist. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of slate. The stone commemorates Robert Day Taylor, who served as the Clerk of the Parish for nearly 40 years. It features an inscription around the border and includes two verses in the center, surrounded by panels with high-quality decorative relief carving.
