Description
This is a farmbuilding located about 6 meters south west of Higher Rexton Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It features a cartshed with a threshing loft above, as well as an adjoining horse engine house. The structure is built of stone rubble and has a hipped slate roof, while the horse engine house has a pyramidal slate roof. The building is two storeys high. The cartshed includes four ground floor entrances that have cambered heads, stone voussoirs, and keystones. There is a large first floor entrance to the left, which is covered by a slate canopy supported by shaped timber brackets. The horse engine house at the rear has a polygonal end, and the internal beam remains intact.
