Description
The Cabin is a cliffside shelter located in Clovelly Court Park, built in the early 19th century for Sir James Hamlyn as part of his enhancements to the park. It was rebuilt in 1903 by Christine Hamlyn. The structure is made of rubble stone and wood, topped with a Welsh-slated hipped roof. The plan is rectangular, providing an open shelter with wide views of the sea. The exterior features a back wall of random rubble and a hipped roof with a bellcast, supported at the front by four square-section wooden posts. Inside, the floor is made of stone setts, and the ceiling is decorated with rustic twigs arranged in a diaper pattern.
