Description
Westmanton Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1820. It features whitewashed plastered cob on stone rubble footings and has a hipped slate roof with deep eaves. There is a brick chimney at the right end and two brick chimneys at the left end. The building has a double depth plan, likely with a central stair hall, and stands two storeys tall. The front has three bays and includes a gabled porch with decorative pierced bargeboards and a decorative timber canopy, along with a six-panel door. The windows are 16-pane sashes, with the ground floor windows having horns and likely being copies. The interior has not been inspected. This farmhouse is an interesting example of using a vernacular material for a fashionable house.
