Description

The Mount is a stone tower located at the angle of a garden wall in Northam, likely dating from the 18th century or earlier, with some alterations. It features rubble masonry and is partly roughcast, with tapered walls and a rounded corner that meets the road. The roof, which dates from the late 19th century, includes dormer and casement windows. There is a lead tank on the property that is dated 1653. It is said to have been a look-out tower associated with an earlier house and may have been part of fortifications. The building is currently used as a small dwelling house.
