Description
No. 4 High Street is a house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It features rendered walls, likely timber-framed, except for the splayed corner. The roof is slate, hipped at the front, and adorned with crested red ridge-tiles. The building stands three storeys high with a garret, displaying one window on High Street, two windows on Allhalland Street, and one window on the splayed corner. The ground floor has a late 19th-century shop front with key-patterned pilasters and consoles. The upper storeys feature barred sash windows, with eight-pane sashes on the second storey, except for the corner window which has a 20th-century fixed sash of twelve panes. The third storey has four panes over eight panes, while the corner window has three panes over six panes. A moulded eaves cornice adds detail, and there is a hipped dormer on the corner of the roof with two lights, each having four panes and glazed sides, also finished with crested red ridge-tiles. The interior has not been inspected.
