Description

The Burrington chest tomb, located about 6 metres north of the centre of the north aisle of the Church of St. Martin, dates from the 1870s. It is made of freestone and features a large chest with a hipped lid that oversails the chest. The tomb has corner shafts adorned with foliage capitals and recessed panels on the sides and ends. It commemorates members of the Burrington family, with the earliest recorded date of death being 1873.
