Farmhouse. Circa 1700, possibly a remodelling of an earlier house. Rendered cob; asbestos slate roof, gabled at ends; brick end stacks, rendered axial stack. 3 room and through passage plan, the lower end to the left, the hall heated from a stack at the opposite end to the passage, the inner room to the right, heated from the right end stack. A passage against the rear wall of the right-hand rooms connects with the through passage and gives access to a rear stair turret, passage probably C20. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 5-window front with regular fenestration and a wide 6- panelled front door under a rectangular fanlight to left of centre leading into the passage. First floor window right a small pane 2-light casement, other first floor windows three 16-pane and one 20-pane hornless sashes. Ground floor 2 and 3-light casements, 3 panes per light. Interior An unusually wide through passage with some circa 1700 joinery details. Circa early C18 stair with turned balusters and a ramped handrail. Ground floor room left has a circa 1700 stopped chamfered cross beam; fixed bench against front wall. C20 grates, possibly concealing earlier features. Roofspace not inspected. A large house of circa 1700 or earlier with a handsome front elevation.
