Description

Cherrycombe is a house that has been divided into two parts, dating from the 17th or 18th century, with a substantial modernization in the 20th century. The building is rendered, with the main block featuring a thatched roof that is half-hipped at the left end, while the front right wing has a tiled roof added in the 20th century. There is an axial stack to the main block and a rear lateral stack to the wing. The layout is a single depth L plan, but the details of the plan were unclear during the survey in 1987 due to lack of access to the interior.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical three-window front on the main block. There is a half-glazed 20th-century front door to the left of centre, and two first-floor 2-light late 19th or 20th-century casement windows with glazing bars, along with two similar ground-floor windows. The wing features a central front door with a gabled porch canopy, and 20th-century casement windows with diamond leaded panes—two on the first floor and one on the ground floor, plus two similar windows in the gable end. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest, and the suggested dating might need to be revised upon an interior inspection.
