Description
Dolbeare Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse, apparently subdivided, and remodelled externally in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of solid rendered walls with a slate roof, and features three large chimneys on the ridge and a fourth on the gable end of the rear wing. The farmhouse has a T-shaped plan, with the main range fronting the lane and arranged as two mid-19th-century houses. The front elevation has two storeys and five windows, with sash windows, including a canted bay window at the left-hand end. There are two four-panelled doors. The rear wing has eight-paned sash windows in the upper storey. The interior, which was not inspected, includes massive stopped double-ovolo moulded beams and one stopped ovolo-moulded beam, a stair winding around a beaded post with a moulded cap, and a section of the staircase with a close string and square balusters. The 1973 list description notes these features, alongside the other details.
