Description

Parke Lodge is a lodge located at the entrance to the grounds of Parke House, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite ashlar quoins and features yellow-brick window-jambs. The roof is slated and has late 19th-century blue glazed ridge tiles, with a steep hipped design at each end and overhanging eaves. The rear section has a lean-to roof, and there is a rendered brick chimney-stack positioned centrally, just behind the ridge of the front roof.

The lodge has a two-room-deep plan and is single-storeyed. The front facade is two windows wide, featuring windows with two lights that have chamfered wood mullions and leaded diamond panes, along with chamfered wood lintels. The side windows are simpler in design. On the right-hand side, there are two windows; the left one is blocked, while the right one has a two-light wood casement with three panes per light. The left-hand side has one partly blocked window, and a four-pane wood casement with a two-pane transom-light now occupies its right-hand side. Additionally, to the left in the lean-to, there is a plank door with a small window cut into its center. The interior has not been inspected.
