Description

This is a headstone dated 1727, located approximately 4 metres south-east of the chancel of St Andrew in Ipplepen. It is made of limestone and features a shaped head with a finial. The finial is designed with an inverted heart that contains a skull engraved on its face. The lettering on the headstone is rather primitive, displaying both upper and lower case letters with serifs. It commemorates the wife of John Lamb.
