Description
This description is for a pair of tomb chests located about 4 meters south of the transept of the Church of All Saints in Halwell. These tomb chests date from the 17th century and are set on a single low base made of stone rubble. They each have rectangular slate lids that show signs of wear. The southern lid is dated 1602 and features an inscription in Gothic script around the border and in a central panel, although it is quite worn and difficult to read. The northern lid is similar in style but is even more worn and indecipherable. Both lids have suffered damage, with the southern lid being broken.
