Description
Yarde is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from around the 17th century and remodelled in the early 19th century. It is constructed of whitewashed stone rubble and has a slate roof with gabled ends. The building has a long range that faces away from the road and is two storeys high, featuring a five-window range. The windows include sashes with glazing bars, with tripartite sashes on the ground floor. To the left, there are three-light casements with glazing bars, while to the right is a glazed and panelled door leading to a 20th-century glazed porch. There is also a 20th-century glazed door on the left side. The house has four large stone chimney stacks, three located on the rear wall and one at the west gable end, which has set offs. At the rear, there is a short parallel wing from the early 19th century, along with rear outshuts. Inside, there is a plain early 19th-century staircase.
