Description
Hope House is an early to mid-19th century building located on High Street. The front of the building was rebuilt at the rear around 1975. It has two storeys and features two windows. The roof is made of Welsh slate, and the front is timber-framed and slate hung. There is a plain eaves band, and the first-floor windows are flush framed sash windows with glazing bars. The building originally had a double shopfront with pilasters that supported an entablature with a projecting cornice. The shop windows have semi-elliptical arcaded lights with columnette mullions. A former shop doorway has been converted into a window. The entrance to Castle Court is located at the north end of the building.
