Description

This is a headstone located about 10 metres south-southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew in East Allington. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of slate. The headstone features a shaped top with carved angels and an italic initial. The inscription includes both upper and lower case letters with serifs, commemorating William Hurrel, who died in 1778.
