Description
The barn adjoining the southwest of Harberton House is likely from the 18th century and was partly rebuilt in the 19th century. It is constructed from local slate rubble, which is partly colour-washed, and features a slate roof with gabled ends. The barn, which has a loft above, is positioned at right angles to the higher end of Harberton House. A small stable has been added to the inner side, featuring a slate lean-to roof that continues as a pentice roof over a wide cart entrance to the barn. The gable end facing the road appears to have been rebuilt in the 19th century and includes a loft doorway. At the opposite end, there is a wide loft doorway that leads to a higher ground level. Inside, there is a 19th-century loft floor and a bolted scissor truss roof.
