Description
The forecourt walls, remains of a gateway, and barn are located immediately to the east of Keynedon Farmhouse. The forecourt walls date back to the 15th century, while the barn is likely from the 17th century. The walls are constructed of slate stone rubble. The battlemented wall is still visible on the south side, but on the north side, it has been obscured by the construction of the barn, which probably occurred in the 17th century. The main gate on the east side retains its moulded jambs up to the springing, and the adjacent wall features a chamfered plinth and a moulded string. The 15th-century gate-tower above the arch was demolished in the late 19th century. Additionally, there are several blocked window openings in the courtyard walls.
