Description
The remains of a lime kiln, likely from the 18th century, are located on the north shore of a creek, 25 yards west of Snapes Manor. This structure sits on a spur of land and serves as a local landmark. It is built from local stone and has a half-rectangle shape in plan, featuring a bee-hive domed chamber that is open in the center to the south. The walls of the kiln rise several feet above the opening and show extensive cracks on each side.
