Description

A pair of attached houses dating from around the mid-19th century, located in Slapton. The houses are constructed of local slate rubble with hipped slate roofs. Red brick stacks are present, one axial and central at the rear, another red brick stack is located centrally at the rear of Edenhurst. The plan is T-shaped, with Edenhurst occupying the cross-wing. The south front is symmetrical, featuring a 1:2 window arrangement, with the cross-wing projecting to the left. The windows are 16-pane sashes with slate lintels and slightly cambered red brick arches. The ground floor on the right-hand side (Sunny Side) has a four-light casement window with glazing bars. The return wall of Edenhurst features two 19th-century two-light casements on the first floor, and a 12-pane sash window on the ground floor to the left, all with slate sills and slightly cambered red brick arches. A doorway is centrally placed on the left return, featuring a 19th-century panelled door and a 20th-century glazed porch enclosing a flight of steps. The interior remains uninspected, but may contain original 19th-century joinery.
