Description

The remains of a medieval cross, located approximately 25 meters west of Courtlands, are designated as a Grade II listed structure. The exact date of the cross is uncertain, but it was modified in the 19th century. It is made of granite and features an octagonal shaft with one joint and an arm set on a square base stone. The cross carries a T-cross formed from a section of tracery from a window. It stands about 1.5 meters high overall, with the arm measuring 600 millimeters. The cross has been moved to align with the main ridge of Courtlands and is positioned high on a bank to the west of the house.
