Description
This is a pair of tomb chests located about 15 metres north of the north porch of the Church of St James, dating from the late 18th century. Both tomb chests are made of dressed slate and feature chamfered cornices. The northernmost chest has a bullnose moulded slate lid, which is inscribed in upper and lower case with serifs, commemorating Richard Paige who died in 1778. The southern chest has a limestone lid with an inscription that is now illegible.
