Description

This is a tomb chest located about 5 metres north-north-east of the north port of the Church of St James in Slapton. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of finely dressed slate. The chest features a hollow-chamfered cornice and has a slate lid that is so badly weathered that the inscription is no longer legible.
