Description

This is a limekiln, likely built in the early to mid 19th century, located about 170 metres southeast of Bow Bridge in Ashprington. It is constructed from local limestone rubble and is set into the bank at the back for top loading. The front features a round-arched opening with a dressed limestone arch, which includes a stoking hole at the back that appears to have been blocked. There is a drip course situated just below the parapet.
