Description
No. 2 Fore Street is an early 19th-century building designed in the Greek Revival style. It is located at the north end of a terrace, adjacent to Nos 1-3 The Plains. The building features three storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical facade that has three windows. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The exterior is finished in stucco, with plain pilaster strips between the window bays. It has a plain cornice and pediment, along with acroteria on the quoins. There is a plain band at the first floor and sill bands beneath the second floor windows. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars, and the second floor window is architraved. The first floor windows have console-bracketed cornices. A lunette is present in the tympanum, while the ground floor features a modern shop front.
