Description
The Harvey family mausoleum, located about five metres southeast of the Church of St Andrews, was built around 1895 by Harry Hems and Sons, sculptors from Exeter. It is constructed of white marble and features a Latin cross on a stepped base, which serves as the mausoleum's large square plinth. The sides of the mausoleum are adorned with gothic arcaded panels. On the east side, there is a flight of granite steps leading down to the mausoleum doorway, which is fitted with bronze gates that display the family arms. Above the gates, there is a panel inscribed with the words "The Family Tomb of Robert and Alida Harvey of Dundridge." Inside the mausoleum, there are three tombs, each topped with a white marble recumbent figure representing Robert (Tito) Harvey, who died in 1895, Sir Robert Harvey, who died in 1930, and Alida Lady Harvey, who died in 1901. All of these figures were created by the firm of Toft, though they are noted to be of Italian workmanship.
