Description
Cox's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of plastered stone and features a slate hipped roof with rendered stacks at the sides. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance situated between two main front rooms, while the back rooms are likely service areas. A large outshut on the left side of the house is probably a later 19th-century addition.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front, along with a one-window lean-to on the right. The three first-floor windows are relatively small 19th-century 12-pane sashes with slate sills. The two ground-floor windows are wider 6-pane sashes, dating from the late 19th or 20th century. The central doorway features a later plank door and a 20th-century porch with a hipped slate canopy supported by wooden posts. The lean-to on the right includes a 19th-century 16-pane sash window. The rear elevation was not inspected during the survey in 1988.
