Description

The Trist headstone, dating from the 18th century, is located about 3 metres west of the south porch of the Church of St George in Dittisham. This headstone is made of local grey limestone and features an elliptical head with shaped shoulders and a slightly sunken border. The inscription is in upper and lower case with serifs, commemorating Mary, the wife of Richard Trist, who died in 1745, and Susanna, the wife of Richard Trist, the son of Mary, who died in 1778.
