Description

Butterwell is a structure likely dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is built into a bank and features slate rubble jambs, a slate lintel, and slate shelves inside. The door is missing. Butterwell is situated on a spring, located across the farm track and yard to the northeast of Lower Bearscombe Farmhouse.
