Description
Bow Cottage is a small house, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of limewashed stone rubble and features a steeply pitched gable-ended roof covered in asbestos. The house has a large stone rubble gable end stack on the left side. The layout consists of two rooms with a central entrance; both rooms are approximately the same size, with the left room heated by the gable end stack, while the right room was probably unheated. In the 20th century, a small single-storey extension was added to the left end of the building. The ground rises at the right end and at the back, which faces the road.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical two-window south front. It features small 19th-century two-light casement windows with small panes, and the ground floor windows have slate hoodmoulds. The central doorway has a late 19th-century or 20th-century plank door with a canopy made of corrugated iron. The front plinth is chamfered. The rear elevation, which faces the road, does not have any windows in the original part of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
