Description
The churchyard lych gate and gates, located approximately 10 metres south-west of Goodleigh Church, date from around 1880. They are constructed from random stone rubble with ashlar dressings and feature a tiled roof adorned with two rows of nowy-shaped tiles. The roof is topped with crested ridge tiles and a central enlarged fleur-de-lis finial. The gable ends are coped and have moulded stone kneelers, while the side walls are supported by short ashlar buttresses. The roof structure is held up by short corner arch braces that are corbelled out of four collar rafters, which have chamfers on the soffits. The lych gate includes a pair of timber gates, which have chamfers on the inner faces of the central stile and middle rail. The gates also feature panels in each lower quarter and iron bars with fleur-de-lis spike finials along the top rail.
