Description

The Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features colourwashed rendered rubble and a slate roof with a gable end to the left. There is a brick stack at the right end. The building has a two-cell plan and a projecting stair turret at the rear. It is two stories high and has a three-window range, with four-paned sashes on each side of a smaller sash that has marginal glazing bars and patterned glass around the edges. The central entrance has a four-panelled door, and there is a half-glazed panelled door at the left end, each accompanied by a two-light casement window from the 20th century to the right. Inside, there is a scroll-stopped beam at the lower end and a single truss that is likely from the 17th century. The Cottage is included for its group value.
