Description

The Medical Hall is an early 19th-century building located on an island site alongside Nos 136 to 141 East Street. It features three storeys and is finished in stucco. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, topped by a large red brick chimney. The façade includes three sashes with intact glazing bars and moulded architraves, along with a central round-headed window on the first floor. A notable feature of the building is the attractive verandah on the first floor, which has a tented canopy and is adorned with cast iron balustrading that incorporates circles and Greek key designs. The ground floor is highlighted by a modillion cornice, and the verandah is supported by four Ionic columns.
