Description
West Hagginton Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 16th century, with later alterations and extensions. It is currently unoccupied. The building is constructed of rubble slate, mostly rendered, with some ashlar, and features a Welsh slate roof. The layout consists of a 3-room through-passage plan, with the lower end located to the right. There is a range of ancillary buildings that forms a wing standing forward of the inner room. The farmhouse has two storeys and an irregular front with a three-window range, although all the windows were replaced in the 20th century with timber and metal two-light casements. A large external lateral stack with set-offs is present, and there is a gabled porch at the entrance to the right of the stack. Inside, the service room and hall feature chamfered ceiling beams, with the hall beams having decorated stops.
