Description
The stable block located approximately 5 metres west of Chittlehamholt Manor House dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of unrendered stone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof with gable ends and a small brick ridge stack. The building has a rectangular shape, with stables on each side of a tack room that contains a staircase on the left side, and two large cart sheds on the right side. It is two storeys high, with the upper storey serving as a continuous loft. There is a loft door above a plank door with an overlight, flanked by a window and another plank door on the left side. The two large cart sheds on the right side have double plank doors. Each gable end features circular windows with radiating glazing bars. Inside, the stable fittings are largely intact, including plank partitions with decorative wrought iron grilles.
