Description
The Old Schoolroom is a former school that has been converted into an arts and crafts centre. It was built in 1860, as indicated by the foundation stone that reads "St Waldreda School Room," and is likely the work of architect John Hayward. The building is constructed from rubble slate and features a Welsh slate roof. It is a single-storey structure with one unit and has a porch at one end that faces the entrance to the church.
On the roadside elevation, there are three-light windows, with each light having a shouldered arch. These windows flank a large central external lateral stack that has weathered offsets and a foundation plaque. The ridge of the roof extends over the lower porch, which is designed as a lucam to house a bell. Originally, the porch was open but has since been glazed. The interior is simple, featuring a keeled barrel vault.
