Description

Tannery House is a house dating from approximately 1830 to 1840. It is constructed of painted stucco with a slate roof, featuring gable end stacks and carved bargeboards. The house has a double-depth plan and a small, two-storey, right-angled projection to the rear right.

The symmetrical facade has four window bays. The windows are sash windows; the outer sashes have hornless glazing with 12 panes, while the inner sashes have a 4-over-4 pane configuration with margin glazing bars. Ground floor windows are 2-over-2 panes. All window openings have moulded architraves. A Tuscan porch distyle in antis provides access to half-glazed, panelled doors with round arched sidelights. A panelled inner door is fitted with upper glazed panels.
