Description

A 17th-century farmhouse, possibly with earlier origins, now a private dwelling, is located in Lower Lovacott, near Newton Tracey. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble and cob, with a slate roof. A prominent front lateral hall stack, rendered, rises from the front, featuring pronounced set-offs and a projecting bread oven sheltered by a slate canopy. The house has a cross-passage containing a staircase, leading to a hall and an inner room to the left, with the lower end extending two storeys. The facade has a three-window range, but the windows are of late 20th-century design. A plank door provides access to the cross-passage, and a doorway is situated at the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
