Description

The Mear grave slab, located approximately 7 metres south-east of the south porch of the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, dates from 1750. It is made of slate and has a rectangular shape. The inscription commemorates Susannah, the wife of Thomas Mear of Bideford, who died in 1750, along with Thomas Mear, who died in 1780, their son John, who died in 1781, and their daughter Hester, who died in 1782.
