Description
This building consists of a barn, granary, byres, and haylofts, located approximately 6 meters northwest of Uppincott Farmhouse. It dates from the mid to late 19th century and features cob on rubble footings with a slate roof. The structure forms an L-shaped block that faces into a courtyard and is two storeys high throughout.
The north wing includes three-bay byres with haylofts above, while the west wing is a continuous range that contains a six-bay barn, a three-bay granary and store, and byres with a hayloft at the far end. The north range has two doors and a central window, with a loading bay above. In the west range, there are large double doors for the barn at the right end, with a cart loading bay to the left. The granary and store feature a timber-framed and weather-boarded front, with external wooden steps leading to the first floor, positioned to the right of a stone pier that supports a massive crossbeam carrying the heavy first-floor structure. To the left, there are two byres. The front principals of the roof trusses extend to support a pent roof. This building is a component of a well-preserved, planned farmyard.
