Description

Northcott is a detached house dating from the 1830s. It is constructed of random rubble sandstone with a gable end shingle roof. The house has a double-depth plan, with two principal front rooms, a central entrance hall, and rear rooms in an integral outshut. Internal end stacks mark the corners. The house has two and a half storeys. The front facade presents a symmetrical three-window arrangement. The attic has small six-pane hornless sash windows. The first floor has 16:12:16 pane hornless sash windows, and the ground floor has 16-pane hornless sash windows to either side of a porch. The porch has a moulded canopy with modillions and panelled posts. The ground floor windows have panelled reveals, and the porch contains a half-glazed door. The interior was not inspected.
