14/66 Langdon and Heathfield chest tombs - about 3 metres north west of east end of aisle of St Michael and All Angels GV II

Pair of chest tombs. Langdon chest tomb early C19, Heathfield probably late C19. Stone. The Langdon chest tomb, to the south, is a rectangular chest with a plinth and oversailing lid. The earliest legible inscription commemorates Mary Langdon, died 1829 ; railings missing. 1 metre to the north a medieval-style coped chest with a plinth and ornamental cross carved in relief on the lid has inscriptions on the side. The earliest commemorates Thomas Heathfield, died 1847 but the style suggests a more likely date of the 1870s, inscription on south side commemorates John Edwards, died 1874. Railings missing.
