Description
The Hurley headstone, located approximately 1 metre east of the chancel of the Church of All Saints, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1767. It commemorates Richard Hurley and is made of grey limestone. The headstone is an upright square-headed slab, standing about 1.2 metres high. The front features an incised decorative frame with flanking fluted columns, an entablature, and a head of scrolled decoration. The inscription, presented in a cursive script, notes the death of Richard Hurley in 1767, as well as his wife Mary and son John, who both died on the same day in 1772.
