Description
Woodgreen Farmhouse is a small farmhouse that was originally two cottages, built in the early 18th century. It features plastered cob on rubble footings, with cob or rubble stacks topped with 20th-century brick. The thatched roof adds to its charm. The building was originally two similar one-room cottages facing southeast, each with a stack located in the right (northeast) end wall, and an outer stack projecting from the gable end. The front has four windows, all of which are 20th-century casements, including a small first-floor window above the door. Each first-floor window has a shallow thatch eyebrow above it. The door is positioned to the right of center and is sheltered by a half-hipped thatch-roofed porch added in 1947. The left end window blocks the former door to the left cottage. Inside, the carpentry details are plain. The deeds for the property date back to 1735, which is likely when the farmhouse was built.
