Description

This tomb chest, located 8 metres north-west of the Parish Church in Cullompton, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is made of stone and features a moulded plinth and a slab with a concave chamfer. Each side has two shield panels with a plain panel in between, while each end has one shield panel. The tomb chest is very weathered, and the inscription has been obliterated. Similar tomb chests can be found at Rewe, Poltimore, and Huxham.
