Description

This summerhouse, located approximately 15 meters east of Hele House, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of plastered rubble and brick, topped with a slate roof. The building has a square plan and features a broad elliptical arch opening that faces southeast. Its pyramidal roof is adorned with a lobed vase cast-iron finial and lead roll hips. Inside, the corners are curved and include niches with chamfered surrounds on either side of the arch. The ceiling is domed and has a simple moulded cornice, along with remnants of acanthus cresting. The summerhouse is included for its group value with the nearby Hele House.
